About Us & What We Believe

The River

Rev 22:11 The angel showed me a river that was crystal clear, and its waters gave life. The river came from the throne where God and the Lamb were seated.

Isaiah 41:17-18 (King James Version) 17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

There are many references to River in the Bible. Most referencing the Holy Spirit. Since to early 1990’s, God has been pouring out his Spirit in great measure throughout the whole earth.

China, Nigeria, Brazil, Mozambique, South Korea and Argentina are nations where the Spirit of God is being poured out in great measure and many are being saved, refreshed, filled with the Spirit and falling more in love with Jesus everyday.

In North America, the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship has experienced an amazing outpouring of God’s Spirit since January of 1994. An unassuming Pastor named Randy Clark was asked to speak at a pastor’s conference and the Holy Spirit came with amazing power, signs, wonders and joy. Today, in 2007, the revival continues almost daily.

Some people just call this outpouring “The River”, and The Blessing Place fully embraces this current move of God and we welcome the Holy Spirit to come and bring MORE of Jesus in every meeting.

Psalm 46:4-5 (King James Version) 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

Empowering Radical Worship

Worship is an important part of our DNA at The Blessing Place. We believe that during worship we come closer to the supernatural heavenly realm of God’s Kingdom. We have seen all kinds of unusual signs happen during worship from healings, to times of deep groaning that we would call the “birth pangs”, the same that Jesus spoke of as a sign of his coming return.

The greatest thing about worship is that it doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done in your past, when you come into worship you can encounter Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit just like anyone else in the meeting does. Come with an open heart and mind and allow God to touch and to do within you whatever He wants to do. He is a loving Father and He knows just what you need, even if it does make you look strange to other people. It’s all about your relationship with Him and not what other people think.

Experience the Fire

God is everywhere and He wants us not just to believe it in our minds but to actually feel his presence. If you’ve never felt the presence of God or maybe you’ve gone to church for years but your understanding of God has been something that is in your mind but you’ve never felt physically, we want to invite you right now to join us.

You can pray this along with us or you can just read it:

God right now we thank you for the amazing person that is reading this. We give you permission right now Father to come and manifest yourself supernaturally, RIGHT THERE where (s)he is sitting! Let them feel your love Father. Holy Spirit we invite you, come do whatever you want, demonstrate your reality in power and in love! God we release the power for creative miracles in broken bodies! We release the power for the soul and emotions to be healed and made whole! In the name of Jesus we release the spirit from any bondage or torment that’s keeping it separate from you God! In your presence, it’s where we belong! Thank you Lord!

Tony McCleave, Pastor

Pastor Tony, by his own admission, is about as unorthodox a preacher as you can find. Not by his own ambition, but by God’s design. One minister, while explaining to a church why the Holy Spirit manifests himself in Pastor Tony the way He, does declared prophetically “peculiar but sound”.

Having been delivered out of a lifestyle of drugs and everything that goes along with that, Pastor Tony understands completely that our victory is in Christ. Outside of Christ there is no victory for us, but the same old bondages we left behind.

In pursuit of staying in Christ, God miraculously filled Tony with the Holy Spirit evidenced by tongues in his living room, alone, after being saved for about 8 months. It was a feeling of empowerment that drugs was no match for.

“Be ye not drunk with wine where there is excess, but be ye filled with the spirit to excess (constantly being filled)”. This scripture has been a motivation for Pastor Tony for years as well as “Seek the Lord and Live”. In this pursuit of seeking and being filled, this hunger for the things of God has driven Tony to travel to revival hotspots throughout the world to give and receive more of the Lord.

Tony is a speaker that many say has a “breaker” anointing, able to impart a fresh anointing into any atmosphere. In 2006, God called him to bring this anointing to the east side of Wilmington, DE. There, in an inner city atmosphere full of “the least of these,” The Blessing Place was born.

The Blessing Place is a church for people without any church background. The generationally unchurched of the inner city do not flock to mainstream church ministry. They are, however, drawn to a place where God manifests His power. And God has established The Blessing Place for them, to confront them with Power they can’t ignore, to rescue them out of darkness and into His wonderful light.
Much as Jesus said “you give them to eat,” The Blessing Place ministers to physical needs as well:

Tilesha and Tameka Brown, Itinerant Ministers

Tilesha Brown and Tameka Brown-Mays are two on fire ministers of the gospel. They have been serving Jesus with completely pure hearts for over 10 years. A radical encounter with Jesus in Brazil in 2006 propelled them into their calling.
